Ok so I joined the group after certain person left.......then I disappeared. Sorry, have been really busy at work, my busiest time and then got new laptop and figuring everything out. It is so different from my old laptop. I love touch screen. Anyway glad to be here with my zoo. two dogs, mine, a cat, my daughters. Two cockatiels, one my daughters and one mine........who I got to keep my daughters lonely tiel company...........they love each other . So having the two tiels.......I have the bird bug. Have been looking at birds for months, and purchased a GCC over a month ago. Went in to look at the baby when it was a fluff ball....and purchased right then. Been visiting the baby each week, and he gets to come home next week. So excited. Have his cage, toys etc all waiting for him. fun times ahead. Tiels keep looking at the empty cage, tell them they are getting a buddy they get to look at. Will have to see how they get along. Probably will get along at a distance, but time will tell.

Welcome back! I love conures. They are amazing birds with so much character. I'm so happy for you. Most probably it would be best to keep your different species of birds separate. Even though your GCC is smaller, their beaks are bigger.

Jan, GCC is just an abbreviation for a green cheek conure.

I've babysat for GCCs a couple of times and they were a little nippy. I could deal with it myself but I didn't let them get anywhere near my tiels.

There are so many GCC in this area. They're really fun to play with.

Aren't conures one of the coolest birds! Definitely keep him separate from my brat tiels......as the tiels sit here and chew on the trim on my couch pillows.
Good thing I don't sweat the small stuff..........and if I did then I would not have any pets. Love my tiels, they are definitely characters. Weather is nice here so when I got home from work , wheeled them out on the patio so they could enjoy the weather. Funniest look on their faces when a plane flew over.........like what the heck was that. It looked like a big bird.
