That's great, the first sign that he's interested in making friends!!! Slowly and surely, you two will be buddies soon [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

he is in the living room now. both birds can see each other and hear the other. but one is on one side of the room the other is opposite side. I am bringing Sweet Pea over daily to see Bebe. we are doing this slowly because Sweet Pea beaten up by her flock mates b/4 she came to me. I want to do this in baby steps so they both become use to one another, without fussing and fighting. He is healthy and finally eating.

hi all, this summer has been a tough one for me and my birds. I got bad bug bite on my calf of my R leg. it ulcerated, infected and was the size of quarter.
Bebe is not adjusting as well as I wish he would have. he is very beaky and I have been chomped on more then any other bird I have worked with. he has seen my avian vet and had blood work done, fecal done. blood work showed the his liver and kidneys are funky, from all the seeds and junk food (human) he has been fed. he is underweight. we are working on getting him healthier, more soft foods (when he will eat them), less seeds. he is afraid of his own shadow and even more afraid any thing human. he has come out of his cage but it rare and he turns into impossible to catch. he scares the heck out of Sweet Pea, my other tiel. he is going to be my challenge.

That's too bad, I hope everything will work out OK. Usually I'd suggest using treats like millet spray and sunflower to help him learn to like you better, but that's not such a good thing to do if he's got health problems.

because he is underweight, that may mess up his liver and kidney function bloodwork. we will redo his blood work in late September, after he has gotten better food and is less stressed. he stress level goes sky high, after seeing Dr. Tony he was so stressed it took a day before he calmed down enough to come down to eat. I was giving him food thru the cage bars .

It's great that he's taking food from you! It helps teach him that good things come from your hands. The next step is to work on getting him to take food without having the cage bars between you.
