Long story short, it came to my ear that the guy with the aviary, the one I trusted with my birds and the charity's birds, sold them all and then said that they all died. I know for a fact that he sold them to a breeder, may he rot in hell.

So I went to see him and I found only Trilly and Mr Darcy in the whole tiel aviary.

Got them in a box and brought them home. They still recognise me, I feel blessed, I just wish I was able to save more. I feel quite devastated thinking of Angelina, Frank, Sesamo, in the hands of some unscrupulous individual.

I can't even buy them back because I have no room for them, feel so guilty about it, and stupid for having trusted a revolting thief.

Anyway, they are now a couple, very sweet with each other, and Mr Darcy didn't bite me yet!!!!

They were famished, attacked the cuttlefish bone and the mineral block, demanded broccoli and chips, but they look in good health.

Welcome back, little marauders!!!! :)

It's too bad about the others, but I'm so happy that you were able to get these two back! Now you can look at happy faces like this again.

Well I want to breed, but I hope nobody ever sees me as a revolting thief :raspberry:

I do hope my birds are going to good homes, but I can't keep them all, so I admit I have sold some to a breeder who buys up lots and lots of birds. To be honest I don't know what happens to them either.

You're so lucky to have found them before he sold them as well.

How many birds do you have currently? It's been so long.

You cant possibly keep every bird you breed.... best not to think on it too much...who knows how people treat birds/animals behind closed doors... we can only hope they go to good kind people

Just to be clear, I have nothing against per who get chicks and sell them, hell I did it myself when trilly and Frank produced four delicious babies. I had 14 at the time, in a one bedroom flat lol.
Plus I don't judge people at random when I have no idea what they are and do, it's not my place.

Bubu was bought from a breeder. I regularly buy birds in shops and put them in aviaries (I know I'm crazy).

What I hate is the callousness of breeders, or brokers, who move birds around or exploit them until they die, just for money. My birds sadly ended up with one of those, that's alt I'm saying.

Thank you for reminding me of that picture Tielfan, she's a crazy mama isn't she :D

Eight tiels, two lovies, and one dove who is moving to a sanctuary this weekend. If the council finds out I'm in trouble again lol

But still seeing the chicks grow up if all goes allright is amazing.
Especially for me where the newborns seem less afraid of me than the parents.
