We've arrived! (Sorry the pic is crappy, I don't have many lights in my new place yet.)

Roo surprised me by doing just fine on the trip. Ironically, Sunny was the one who got carsick a few times, but it didn't seem to distress him at all.

My current theory about Roo's episodes is that they're brought on by negative associations and separation anxiety. They got much worse after I kept the birds at my parents' house for 6 weeks last year while I went on my residency interviews. After that, for a while she was having an episode of illness literally every time we'd go in the car. Now I think that might have been because she associated the car with the fear of me abandoning her somewhere. :( This time, I was very intentional about talking to her the whole time and giving her lots of attention in the evenings, and she didn't get sick.
