Does Zorro seem happier without the leg band? If I was a bird I think I'd be happy to get rid of it.

I use legbands to see who is who. As a breeder I think it's a must to keep track of relations.

If I'd keep one of my own birds I wouldn't cut it off, but you don't need it for anything if you're not breeding. It can help if your bird flies away to prove it's yours, but that's the only advantage I guess.

Birds do get used to the band being there, so I don't mind. (I'm wearing 2 rings myself)

Hes chipped which is just as good if not better in reguards to lost bird part.
