With me, the species I own are the species I like. There are a lot of great birds out there and I love to see them and handle them, but I wouldn't want to own most of them because they're more complicated to take care of and generally harder to live with. I can afford the bigger birds but I choose not to buy them.

I wish I could say the same haha  It's only the financial side of things at the moment that stops me. My hope is to save in a few years time for a pair of macaws. They'd most likely have an outdoor enclosure but my intention is to free fly. I've got macaws tattooed all over my left arm, I'm a bit obsessed. So far I've got a scarlet, a blue and gold, a military and a Lear's. All watercolour :D I have worked with macaws and cared for mini macaws, I just think there's something about them. If I could afford them now I would have them in a heart beat but I'd rather spend the money on improving the lives of the animals I have at the moment

For me it would have to be the galah cockatoo.

Not only are they beautiful, but they're also considered one of the most playful cockatoo species there is. Heck, even in the wild you can see them tumble about.

They're also apparently one of the softest birds too. I have pet a few before, and I can confirm that their feathers are VERY soft. :)

The Hyacinth Macaw is also another favorite of mine, because they're beautiful, and in my opinion, just have some of the most endearing faces. :D

Galahs are beautiful, have you seen Major Mitchell's cockatoos? You may like those if you like the pinks :D Having met a lot of galah I can honestly say they're like a giant fat cockatiel  I love them. My grandparents always ask why I've not got one yet. Nan has a bird phobia but she absolutely loves them

We have low-cost grooming services at the bird club meetings, and I help by holding the birds for the person who does the actual grooming. So I get to wrestle with macaws.

My favorite bird is a cockatiel by far. The most visually pleasing bird to me is a blue crown conure. And lucky me I have both!
