Hey sorry guys. I got a bit busy with lots of stuff going on, but hopefully I'll be more active again. I've been doing mostly a lot of horse stuff. :bigsmile100: I've gotten pretty okay at it. I'm riding bareback, so that's actually a lot of fun. And all my birds are well too. Nothing really too new, expect Danny is talking a little now.

Well I'm sure your life has been equally eventful.

Who are we kidding, of course it hasn't. ;)

It's so cool that you are getting to do that horse stuff. I would have LOVED that, when I was growing up. However, my parents felt it was too dangerous. Maybe that was a way of not saying it was too expensive. I never thought of just going and hanging around the stable, which some do, then get some work, and some riding time. Anyway, just enjoy it.

When I was 50 I decided to learn to ice skate. For about ten years I went to the rink three times a week. I LOVED it. Over the ten years I broke a humerus, a wrist, an elbow, and a vertebrate. Not at the same time. I kept going back, because I loved it. When I got in my late sixties I just couldn't get it back after the last fracture. But I had that time when I could do it and enjoy it, and I have the memories.

It is kind of dangerous to be honest. I've fallen 3 times so far. Twice I fell off and once was bucked off. But it's incredibly fun! I guess it helps that I have an oddly high pain tolerance, so I don't get hurt too easily. It's the only hobby I have, so I really really enjoy it. That pretty much explains my absence.

I was surprised when I went back to skating after the broken humerus. It was a very painful injury, and required quite a long period of mending it.

Ha! If I can steal your quote above here and change it a little so it fits me... I'd put up this:

Hey sorry guys. I got a bit busy with lots of stuff going on, but hopefully I'll be more active again. I've been doing mostly a lot of guild ball stuff. Check the blog I keep if you want to see more: http://bobplaysguildball.blogspot.be/ :bigsmile100: I've gotten pretty okay at it. But I won't be at a competitive level any time soon...
All my birds are well too. Nothing really too new, expect I'm very excited about a whitemask male! First time I ever get to see the feathering change from 'female' to 'male' colors!

do you have any "before and after" pictures by any chance?

Dianne, your perseverance about figure skating is amazing! Do you at least watch competitions? they just finished Gran Prix finale in France. I have been watching on youtube.
