I love to watch my cockatiels preen. It happens every evening at about 6 pm.

For a long time Emma was the best preener. She has tail feathers down to a graceful science. But, I see Silver catching up, preening each feather individually and bending his body back into a graceful C for each one..

There's something oddly satisfying about watching birds preen. I love it when they scritch their own heads

Do your cockatiels tend to preen themselves thoroughly in late afternoon/early evening? Mine do.

Mine do it a couple of hours after I have fed them.
