I just gave away Cheerio to my employee who has birds. I’ve owned birds for a decade, and they have gotten me through so much in life. I’m grateful for all the experiences they taught me, but now it’s time for a new stage in my life. I’ve made so many friends on here and I’ll never forget any of you.

I suppose my tale is over. Thank you. For everything.

That's too bad. I know that your birds have meant a lot to you, and I hope that someday you'll have time for them in your life again.

You can still stick around if you want. Perhaps you’ll own birds again one day.

Thank you guys. I appreciate that. Cheerio is doing very well. I get updates every day from her. I could not be happier with this set up. I might visit him next week. I’m so glad I did this because he is getting attention multiple times a day.

So glad Cheerio is doing well in his new home! It’s great that you get to visit him. It sounds like he’s really happy with his new owner.

I think that if you still want to own birds but don’t have the time, finches are a great choice. You can keep several in a large flight cage and never take them out, and they’ll be just as happy. Plus they don’t screech, chirp nicely, they’re brightly colored, and there are lots of species to choose from.
