i have a friend named and he has these 2 hamsters his neighbor gave him. but there in a small cage, in my opinion only big enough for one. and he dosent neglect them or any thing. but he only cleans there small cage once a wk and i think a cage that size needs it twice a wk. and he is willing to spend 30.00 buying me a gift but not 30.00 buying them a bigger cage *sigh* he offered to give them to me. i dont want them cause it would interfear with saving for a bird, but it bothers me that he dosent want to take care of them better. if i had the 30-40 id buy the cage my self.

Okay now this might be a dumb question but would it be possible for you to keep the hamsters in your bird cage? Obviously they wouldn't use all the vertical space in it but maybe the floor space would be suitable for them to run around in. By the time you have enough money to buy one of the expensive birds you lust after, you'd probably have enough to buy a new hamster cage too.

At least he's doing it, and the hamsters can thank you for it. It would have been very easy for him to say no so it's OK to give him credit for doing the right thing, even though it took a little nagging to get him to do it.

Dwarf hamsters are awesome. We had those. They are really small and so sweet. It's nice that they will get another cage. You could also look at a thrift shop or try freecycle.com It's for people wanting to get rid of things free. They are not allowed to charge or they can't post. You sign up and then you select your location so it is near you and you would post, Wanted: hamster cage Try it, it don't cost anything to try it. I found out about it from someone and it really is nice. Just don't let anyone try to sell you something. Someone tried that with me and I told them that was not allowed and they knew and immediately said forget I ever said that. I never heard from them again. I bet they didn't want to be taken off the freecycle and not be able to get things or give away things all for free.
