If the question was "what would you like to be" I think I'd love to be a derbyan, they are so beautiful!

And since this is a thread about parakeets, this video is a must, especially for you american friends... look how many "Posh Pidgeons" we have!!! I had no idea until I watched this... Sadly they are all down south, my region has a miserable weather and they are too smart to move here!

We have lots of feral parrots too. The most famous are the Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill - that's the name of the book and movie about the cherry-headed conures in San Francisco.

Here in Arizona, lovebirds have been known to nest in saguaro cactus. Native woodpeckers make the holes to use as nests, then other birds use it when the woodpeckers are through. From http://mirror-pole.com/collpage/pf_loveb/pfl_1.htm :

There are blue crown conures in the flock of cherries as well.
