I am sorry it took so long, with my new lousy connection 600 minutes to upload and then 2 more hours to process it... or maybe it's just YouTube that hates me

This is how to put together a cheap water feature for your birds, it will definitely work better in an outdoor aviary because every drop of water creates a little spray that ends up on the floor around. I am still trying to solve this problem, indoors, but in an aviary it's actually a nice thing.

Just one thing I forgot to explain in the video: the square base I made, the one sitting in the bottom of the tub, is there only because it helps to keep the vertical pipes and the bottle stable. If you tie the two vertical pipes in some way you can avoid the base... but I think it makes everything look a bit more tidy and easy to remove.

Have fun building your own water feature, and don't forget to post the results!!!

That's a great idea! I bet the birds will love it after they've had time to get used to it. They're not particularly afraid of it right now.

Was that Bubu who threw the empty bottle off the table? :roffle:

Of course it was him, I was actually surprised that he didn't take off with one of the L joints in his beak! :D

No problem Baruch, just one quick reminder: when you buy the pipes and the joints, make sure that the joints fit well. Even 1mm makes a difference.
It's a stupid thing to tell you, I know it's quite obvious, but since i DID make this mistake and bought smaller joints I thought it was worth telling you :)

Well, I think I will just stick to spraying with the bottle and taking showers with me. But well done.

I have to say, I was just memorized by your voice the whole time. Can you make a video where you just read a novel out loud?

One question before I go. What size and how long should the pipes be? I will look at the video again but my family is home and they won't like the cockatiel screaming

The pipes generally come in HUGE lengths - we're talking 10 feet. You'll need to cut them to the length you want with a hacksaw or some other tool. The number of couplings you need will depend on exactly how you want to configure things, and the diameter of the couplings will depend on the diameter of the pipe you get, since there are several choices. For a bird bath you can use one of the smaller diameters. You can look at Barbara's video to see the number and type of couplers that she used, and decide whether this will work for you or not - mute it to silence the cockatiels! You can look at the Home Depot website to get an idea of what's available and what everything is called: http://www.homedepot.com/b/Plumbing-Pip ... 5yc1vZbuf5
