I don't know if our British friends have seen this commercial, but this was aired in the US, and it's seriously ridiculous. This is 2 years old, but Steven Colbert gives a segment on it.

I remember that segment--that poor parakeet seems so confused

ngl though, if someone made a realistic cockatoo robot I would totally buy it. All of the fun of a cockatoo with an off-switch included? Sounds perfect!

Squawkers Macaw, anyone? They're not being produced any more but you can still find them here and there. I think the original retail price was about $80.

Don't badmouth my Squawkers Macaw! I got it when I was 8 and I still have him! As immature as I am I mostly recorded fart noises on him.

That is really funny. My birds will probably be terrified of it.

Edit: we posted at the same time. That is hilarious! I had him too but I don't have him anymore. I think I got him around 9 years old.

Great news guys... the original price of Perfect Polly was $20, and I told myself that I'd buy it if they cut the price in half. Well guess what... the price is down to SIX BUCKS on Amazon, with free shipping if you qualify: http://www.amazon.com/Telebrands-Perfec ... roduct_top

If you look at the customer reviews you'll see lots of complaints, but enough people were satisfied for me to go ahead and blow six bucks on it. She's good enough to join my small collection of stuffed and robotic birds.

My sister had one of these circa 1965:
