phpBB [video]

This cutie is singing the chorus to the theme song of a popular japanese animated movie known as "My Neighbor Totoro". Out of all cockatiels I've heard sing this tune, this one is the most in tune. He's also quite in sync with the piano. Has quite an ear for music. :)

Oh, so I was able to post THIS one, but if I try posting a thread with a video of an Indian Ringneck parakeet saying "smile", it gives me a 403 error. This is not my day for technology, apparently.

Needless to say, I hope you all enjoy the video. :)

I guess I should advise all cockatiel owners to use headphones, lest they want their own 'teils to try and sing along.

That video is adorable! We love that movie in this house and I'd die from cuteness overload if Dork-yote was able to learn that one.

I think I posted this one a while ago, the tiels is so sweet he melts my heart every time I watch it, and My Neighbour Totoro is itself an absolute joy to watch, I think I already watched four or five times...
I LOVE this little boy trying to be as precise as he can and the piano person rushing and slowing down to help him. Sweetness itself :)
I have some hope that Sam will pick it up, it's his kind of song :D

I'm so glad people here know of My Neighbor Totoro! :D I love that movie!

I've heard that cockatiels, ragardless of gender, will pick up tunes and words, if kept as single birds, because they try to better communicate with their human. I've been whistling a certain song from a childhood video game I used to play called "Earthbound", to Lucy. She seems very concentrating on listening. She doesn't seem to be the very vocal type (except for the chirps I hear from her every now and then), but I wonder if she ever will learn it?

I also love how he's trying to play in time while being precise. The owner is so sweet for matching his pace.

I do feel bad for the original owner. He's had this video reuploaded by two other users, claiming ownership, when he copyrighted the video, and when he tried to get them to take it down, he was forced to uplift the copyright in his video, because one of the uploaders threatened to report his to the makers of My Neighbor Totoro. The video I shared is from his original channel. I didn't want to support the other uploaders by using their videos.

Well, in most small birds, it's more common for the cock to talk, the exception being lovebirds, where the hen is a better talker.

Just because a bird is kept alone, it doesn't guarantee it will talk.
