Marnie is a blue mutation Indian ringneck (IRN). VERY adorable.

Only one of my previous chicks has come back for a visit, but I babysat for her several times. She more or less settled in as if she'd never been away. Henry started courting her so I had to guard against that. Henry basically wants to get it on with every hen he sees except the two I've got that would actually be appropriate for him to mate with.

Right now isn't the best time though. It's a lot more chaotic than usual because I've got 13 fledglings wreaking havoc in the bird room. There are 6 more babies in the nest who'll start fledging in a couple of weeks. It'll be a lot calmer in the fall after the chicks are gone.

Oh I'm sure it's very chaotic with the fledglings right now. Given how Lucy is with her eggs right now, I wouldn't put it past her to try and help with the remaining chicks. I wouldn't really think about a visit until she's done laying eggs though, especially given the fact that she's sitting on some infertile eggs right now.

She's still coming out of the cage, although she's much more adamant about protecting them now. Being too far away from her "nest" might be a little stressful for her now.
