Thank you everyone! I feel all better now :D

I figured out how he passed...he ate fungus. We had a lot growing o the wood. I pressure cleaned it all off. I am extra carful about this now.

I am *hopefully* re-modeling the aviary in the summer. I will make changes so that I won't have fungus problems ever again.

Did the wood with fungus (or possibly mold) show signs of being chewed by birds? Breathing in the spores can be dangerous too.

I am not sure. We had a lot and the fungus was in a weird shape, so i can't tell if it's a chew mark. Moon liked to forage on the floor.

Breathing is alo a problem? :yikes:

That means that my whole aviary isn't safe. from top to bottom I don't want to push my parents into re-doing it. Even the slightest issue and they would get rid of them.

My parents are fixing the whole fish tank. We have a pretty big one and all our fish started dying. So someone is going to come and empty all the water, and we are getting new lights because the old ones are really hot which made the water hot. Do you think i should wait until they are done with the fish? i know for a fact that re-modeling the aviary will be cheaper…much cheaper.

It depends on the specific type of mold or fungus. Is there any chance that you know which type you have? All of your birds seem to be healthy so maybe this one isn't a breathing hazard.

Waiting until the fish project is finished is probably a good idea. They might not want to tackle another project while they're still in the middle of this one.
