With regret I inform you that Banana has come to pass.

It's been freezing over 2 weeks now and although I bring in fresh water (sometimes twice) a day, I've lost my first bird.

Today I came in the aviary and saw the little yellow fella on the ground. He didn't feel skinny in the least, so I'm not sure why he died.

Still... I was hoping to get more chicks out of him...

RIP mr.

Aww, I'm sorry Bob. It truly sucks to lose a bird.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I imagine you're in the same boat as me having your birds in outdoor aviaries. This is the worst time of year for losing them. Luckily I've not lost any over the winter so far. Tubular heaters have been working wonders

Was Banana a budgie?

Yes, Banana was one of my first budgies, I bought him in may 2014. I have no Idea how old he was.

At first I thought he was a she, cause he didn't have a blue nose, but I learnt soon enough he was a cock!

I'm sure there's some pictures of him on here already...

(I'll edit the picture in here if I find it)

Found it!

(He's also in my signature picture. The other yellow one is his daughter, Little Lemon)

He was a gorgeous boy! He had a wonderful life with you, even though it didn't last as long as you would have liked.

He was absolutely beautiful, so sorry :(

You know I'm sure I jinxed my luck. I said just a couple of days ago here that I hadn't lost any this winter. One of my budgies passed this morning
