Is that first photo the natural colors or has it been tweaked? Everything is so orange, it's very dramatic.

I like the Tsuka photo, you've really captured his "don't mess with me" look. Dally looks so sweet and innocent, it makes a nice contrast.

And the deer picture, what can I say? :roffle:

Releasing banded hawks must be SERIOUSLY cool. I volunteer with a hummingbird banding project so I've handled hundreds of hummingbirds, but I've never touched a hawk.

i dont mind :)

ive adopted a hummer myself, she was adorable. she was in the banders hands in these photos, she was placed in my hand on her belly but she was too fast when she flew away. i have also adopted other song birds too. to this date ive adopted a merlin (falcon, female), 2 sharp shinned hawks (male and female), ruby throated hummingbird (female), rose breasted grosbeak (female), and a warbler i cant remember the name for nor can i find my certificates at the moment.

I assume that's a ruby throat in your hand? We don't get ruby throats where I live so I don't know what they look like at close range. But she looks sort of like a black-chinned, which is a closely related species in the same genus.

Your little girl looks like a baby. The cinnamon-colored edges on the feathers (aka "buffy") is a sign of a juvenile. It might be a trick of the light, but it looks like she has shallow grooves on the side of her beak too, extending out close to the tip. This is another sign of a juvenile, and the further out the grooves extend the younger the bird is. This bird probably hasn't been out of the nest for very long.
