Halmofids--
On the piano I am currently working on a simple minuet by J.S. Bach, Greensleeves, and three English Country Dances. The Bach piece is taking a lot of study, but it is coming along.
I also want to learn to play some pop songs from the fifties and sixties. I have a book coming that I ordered from Amazon.

Wow...I am in the mist of some talented people. Stephanie, you seem like an amazing young women. And Baruch, you seem like the most gentle of souls.
The media would have us believe the world is all gloom and doom but after spending time here, I always feel a renewed sense of a positive future in our young people.
So..what do I do???? Well, I am an organic gardener and keep free-range meat birds and laying hens. Along with Peach, I have two dogs and a cat and a 55 gallon planted fresh water aquarium. I like to read and journal. I belong to a Women's group where we explore spirituality.
I also LOVE Zumba and I do yoga as well.
Pretty tame next to you guys, I know. :)

Thank you Steph. Carolyn, you seem to have lots of hobbies. No wonder you are always busy.

Jan, that's very cool!

Dianne, those are very cool songs to play. Good luck. I would love to see a video of you playing one day.

Doing things badly is the first step in learning how to do them well lol. Nobody starts out as an expert, we all have to start at the beginning.

You are correct. Nobody starts out as an expert. The objective is to get presentable in private so if you need that skill in public you don't look like a doofus.

Ive played and learned piano since I
was 6 years old.... very very long ago!
I do still enjoy it but the fingers wont move
so well now... taken me a long time to sound
good on the piano.... why must we get old and
not be able to do stuff as well?

At my age I've learned to do things because I enjoy doing them. I realized a long time ago not to worry about the outcome but to have fun in the activity. Interestingly, the less I worry, the better I do. :)

I agree!

I joke that I have a house full of musical instruments, and I play all of them poorly. But I enjoy it.

I am really loving the piano. It seems easier than the other instruments I have played.

I always wished I had a piano, but it never seemed possible. Now, I live in my own house, rather than an apartment, so I can play without disturbing others. I thought about getting a traditional upright, but instead got a Yamaho electric piano. It seemed a more practical choice. This has very good sound and feels like a real piano. I am thrilled to finally have one. And, Silver loves to listen to me play. He usually comes over and sits on my shoulder.
