If you're consistently active on forums and give good advice you'll get invitations to be a mod. You do have to deal with delicate situations sometimes including people who are abusive and other mods who don't do things the way you'd like to do it, so be careful what you wish for lol.

I wonder how long it will take for something to break out under my wing.

Hopefully it won't be for a long time. It's inevitable that actual troublemakers will pop up occasionally. But if the mods don't go around provoking people like they did in the past, things should be pretty calm most of the time.

Well, we only have 4 other moderators and they are all busy, so I suppose I will be on my own for a bit until they have more time. Hopefully nothing big will happen when I'm on my own.

If it does, you can always holler out to the other moderators for help. There's a good chance that at least one of them will come give you a hand.

And we can give good advice on how to be calm and collected, especially Baruch and me... We are not hot-headed, it's all a myth lol

There are 2 current moderators who never even come on the forum anymore. I don't know why they are still moderators. The only active moderators are CaliTiels, Renae, and Ollieandme. That's it.

I don't know who the other moderators are, but historically Renae and Ollieandme were calm and nice. Renae seemed like she was starting to turn nasty around the time I left so I don't know whether she stayed that way or if she reverted to her old behavior. She was mostly inactive during the time I was a moderator, so she definitely goes through long stretches of inactivity. Roxy does the admin stuff and she's made the new member approval process a lot more time consuming for herself than it needs to be, so she's probably spending a lot of time behind the scenes. Which is just as well since she tends to be kind of harsh in public.

The other moderators are xoxsarahxox and iperry82. If you think Renae takes long breaks, you should see when the last time these moderators even came on the board. Srtiels is also a moderator and she barely goes on the forums either.
