I like Pop.

I like music from the 60s and 70s, especially The Beatles. When I was young I promised myself I wasn't going to become one of those people who doesn't keep up with current music. But, there you go, I'm not up on popular music.

I love powerhouse. It's not really a genre, but specific singers like Martina McBride, Kelly Clarkson and Céline Dion.

It was rock and pop for me up until about the mid-1990s when pop music changed and became too bland for me. So now it's mainly rock for me in terms of 'modern' music. I do like classical music though, especially baroque.

Dianne, I always tell myself I'm going to keep up with what's popular at the moment. I don't think I'm ever going to change what genre I listen to.

Carolyn, that's cool. I really loved the way you guys played those instruments

I cannot stand Miley Cyrus or Meghan Trainor. I don't like Miley because she is just a screwball desperate for attention. Meghan Trainor is different. She sings well enough and her songs are not bad, but I was very offended by that song "All About that Bass". I never, ever get offended, but I am sensitive about my weight and the entire song was about "skinny shaming" and having an anorexic looking girl walking around. Yes, I am being a little touchy about it, but it really offended me in the video implying if you're not slightly chubby and if you're skinny you have an eating disorder.

Other than that I don't mind pop. I also have Jessie J's "Bang Bang" stuck in my head and it won't leave! And really any song sung in acoustic is a winner by me. For some reason, I am in love with the acoustic version of "Firework" by Jenny Lane and "Hey Ya" by Obadiah Parker.

Firework:

Hey Ya:

If you listen to the original versions of each of them, the are much peppier. The original "Hey Ya" is a mess. :roffle:

Meghan WAS saying that. She did call skinny people the B-word and shortly after that part in the song she says "nah, I'm just playin." She probably knew she would get hate. I think the real purpose of that song was mostly saying how girls shouldn't worry too much about being overweight and that you should be confident with who you are. If it makes you feel better, Meghan actually tried to become anorexic but failed after 4 hours.

I'm kinda like Diane. I'm still in love with the Beatles but I do love Classical and I'm really open to just about anything.
