I like Empires, I don't know much about music nor do I listen to it very much, but Empires was nice when she sung it on The Voice. In fact, that's where I hear most songs, because I won't find it on my own.

Wow! Acoustic sounds so much better! I love Acoustic now!! Oh my gosh, the original Hey Now sounds awful.

I know, right? The real Hey Ya, used to be the thing, but then I heard Obadiah's version and now the original sounds like crap! :roffle:

Although fun fact, I still do say, "shake it like a Polaroid picture"... far too frequently.

And now for some System of a Down. This is actually a song about Shodu, with all that talk about eating seeds and disorder. There are other cockatiel references too when I change the lyrics a little bit.

System of a Down is a very weird band but I think they're great. I'm not a fan of "screaming at the top of your lungs" music and they do quite a bit of it. But they mix it in with other vocal styles and haunting melodies, inventive harmony and chord progressions, bizarre lyrics, a nice Eastern European flavor, and a lot of good old fashioned hard rock. I don't know of any other band that does anything like it.

Their big political issue is publicizing the Armenian genocide of 1915. Yeah, that has a lot of current relevance.

Some of my lyric changes to "Toxicity":
First of all the name of the song is "Toodicity". Cockatiels are called cockatoodles in my house. "The toxicity of our city" becomes "the toodicity of our city".

"How do you own the world" becomes "How do you own the birds"

"Between the sacred silence and sleep" becomes "Between the Sacred Silence and Squeebs". I think we all know who Squeebis is, his picture is in my signature. The Sacred Silence is Mims - she's pretty quiet most of the time.

Shodu is VERY food-driven and she's pretty disorderly while she does it lol. The lyrics apply to her without any changes.

Come to think of it, SOAD is a little bit like Queen. I can almost imagine them doing Bohemian Rhapsody.

This was the first time I watched a Queen video. I never knew that Freddie Mercury looked so much like Frank N. Furter in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

This morning I have a long musical montage running through my head. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Queen, the Moody Blues... OMG. But I'm also thinking that it's time to REALLY corrupt the younger generation, and maybe the older generation too. I'm not a Primus fan but the over the top weirdness of this song/video is just plain fun:

Edit: Holy cow - Primus did a cover of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Who knew? I'd rather listen to the Charlie Daniels original, but this is funny:

My eyes were bulging out for the whole 30 seconds I watched. Haha
