It's the usual arrangement. Buster and Shodu will make babies. So will Pip and Ladybug. Vlad, Mims and Snowy will be foster parents to some of the babies. I'm currently trying to get someone interested in Priscilla, and Elvis sort of looks like he might be thinking about it since he doesn't have access to Ladybug now. If somebirdy will pair up with her, they can have babies too.

That means you will have 6 birds that won't have anything to do with breeding. Do they show interest in the nest boxes or do they just not care for breeding?

Most of my birds are in love with someone inappropriate lol. Squeebis and Teela desperately want to make babies but I won't let them because they're brother and sister. Azazel wants to have a threesome with them, but since T&S aren't allowed to breed that means he can't either. Elvis wants to mate with Ladybug, who is already taken. Henry wants to mate with his mother, which ain't gonna happen. Priscilla is a beautiful little hen who is very much available, but none of these dumb cocks are smart enough to pair up with her. They'd much rather pursue somebody that they can't have.

Ah, I see. Sounds exactly like my flock! Priscilla is like Maya.

It seems like every time somebody puts two or more birds together, it turns into a soap opera one way or another. The more birds you have, the weirder it gets.

My boys are as stupid as yours
I had Princess and Lesley who were very much available and they preferred humping feet, or salad leaves, or serenade some other boy. Last night before bedtime I found Keith trying to climb on Rocky, earlier it was the other way around. But they are so inept they fell down from the perch. If they weren't so hilarious I'd be very fed up with them. Should I find eggs for them to raise? But then Bubu will want one too, then Bimbo.... Pffffff these guys are dumb.
Now they are all male, grey (apart from Keith and Rocky) and sometimes I confuse one with the other.
They are looking for nests, for God's sake!

Single males can sometimes be very good at raising chicks, so if you know someone with unwanted eggs you could try giving them to one or more of your boys.

Thank you for the info, Tielfan, I wasn't sure.
What about a couple male-male? Lately Keith and Strider have been preening each other so I think they would want ydo it together, if I find an egg "donor". Would two bonded males be good co-parents?

I will post on Bird Trader and see if I find someone, or I can even ask to Craig who is the aviary gentleman. He has some boxes out right now, no eggs yet but sooner or later some couple will use the boxes. I would love an egg from Angelina, Trilly and Frank have no nest box so no eggs there... Hopefully!

As long as they can share the nestbox peacefully it should be OK. I once had a foursome of 3 cocks and 1 hen raise a clutch together, so it's definitely possible for them to cooperate with each other.

I'm rather hoping that you can get hold of some Trilly eggs. That would be awesome! It's better for her if she doesn't lay eggs since they've caused problems for her in the past. But if she insists on laying them, you could share in the wealth.

Trilly's babies were gorgeous! When I go visit them I'll see how she's doing.
So, how do I go for it? Do I start hanging the nest box on the wall, without eggs, and check who is interested in it? Or I better get some eggs in it first? My gut feeling is that bubu will be inside as soon as he sees it.
I am just worried that if I get some eggs before trying the nest box and then nobody will sit on them the eggs will be destroyed unless I sit on them lol
