We had a couple sleep over my house this weekend. I had my bird out and on me and the wife came and sat near me. She was being such an annoying negative snob. She was like "oh, you know many people give those birds away because they are so loud?" then she said "You need to get it a pair because its all alone and its very upset here." Then she was like "I heard that you have to be with those birds for 24 hours a day, well, not 24 hours a day, but very close."

She was super annoying and was just trying to get me to give it away which really annoyed me. She said at the end "thats what i heard from people but i could be wrong."

Im not upset at her curiosity, I'm more annoyed on how she was acting like a know-it-all when she is really just uneducated. Ever get those kind of people that have no interest in your birds but just in trying to get rid of them?

It really wasn't what she said that annoyed me, it was more of her attitude that ticked me off. I know that they scream a lot but it was the way she said it that got me annoyed.

I would give her a credit for at least admitting this :)
Often people's way of thinking is cliche.
I know a family who gave away their conure for exactly this reason - he demanded a lot of attention while they had 3 young kids.

People should really think what their future will be like before getting a parrot.

You could always come back to everything she says with something like "gee, that hasn't been my experience". Even if it really has been lol.
