I am not making them anything... sorry... its a wild park with other animals living there.
But no, it's not far from here. But to come back here, they would have to cross street with busy traffic... maybe at night they could do it safely but there are houses next to the park so they wouldn't have to cross that street :)
Would they want to track it back to my house? Can they do it, like go to a certain smell or other markings that they left here?

I don't know for sure, but I think they probably can't find their way back to your house. Mice don't have a reputation for amazing homing skills.

but just imagine - what a surprise to find each other again in the wild park :)
Now I feel bad about the little one who got dropped off out of the waste basket by the vacant house. What if people who live in another part of the duplex decide to poison him?

You can't think about those things... If you do you might as well have kept them as pets.

Hahaha yes, they'd see eachother and say Hey buddy, what an adventure! Happy to see a friendly face here....
Hey I have an idea, let's get back to the house we were before, I enjoyed the ride, we might get another one!!!!

when I catch a mouse my daughter always asks "is it cute?" I always tell her to go take a look but she says she is afraid :) At first I empty the trap into the tall kitchen bucket to make sure that the trap actually caught somebody. The are jumping inside but cant get out, it's too tall and walls are slippery for them to walk up. Sometimes my daughter comes to see the mouse in the bucket, and says that it is cute. I transport them in that bucket. Just need to make sure that the bucket won't tip over during the ride in the car LOL then I would be screaming like crazy :)

I love all animals, so I think mice and rats are adorable.
