You'd have to intentionally answer 10% of the questions wrong lol.

overall grade includes homework, tests, quizzes, classroom work , etc, and they all may have different weight in your overall grade.
plus some tests have, say, 36 questions. so you need to answer wrong 3.6 question. NOt as trivial :)

an interesting thing is, that at the end he somehow flunked his math grade -- he made a mistake in calculations (I guess) and received 89.45 overall at the end of the year. His parents were really really mad :) I would be, too. He was an Asian 6th grader

When you're making calculations like that it's hard to factor in the questions that you accidentally answered wrong.

Oh man, I have yet to have a student like that, but I did have one who asked me, on the last day of the semester, if there was anything she could do to bring her 6% up to a passing grade. Then she proceeded to write a long (supposedly anonymous, but I could totally tell because of the details she included) rant on my evaluation about how unfair my grading policies were.

I glanced at Brandon's forum the other day and saw that he's trying to breed his birds for real. Also, one of them flew off in the park, but was somehow rescued AGAIN. One of these days his luck's going to run out, and I feel awful for the birds.
