I actually like the rain.

I have a few. Want me to name them? I'll do it for the heck of it.

3 tomato plants (fruiting), 4 pepper plants, 5 basil, 5+ mint, 10 strawberry, butternut squash (fruiting), dragon fruit cactus, and a lemon tree (fruiting), melon.

Whatever has "(fruiting)" means it currently has fruits on it. It wasn't hard bringing them it. Only took about 5 minutes.

Are they hard to look after? Jack and I tried growing bell peppers once. Messed up the first time and then the second time they grew really well but were tiny and died anyway  I've got a dracaena marginata that has grown super big though

They aren't hard at all! The most common reason why they died was because you over watered it. How many times a week did you water them?

The second reason would be because it was too cold/wrong season.

To be honest I imagine growing most things here without decent heat would probably be difficult. Even summer is cold! I wanted to grow stuff for my birds

I'd like to get a piece of that rain myself. Living in the desert really warps your perspective. When I hear that some area had 17 inches of rain and catastrophic flooding, I think "some people have all the luck!".
