What does it take? and why in the country where there is a petition for anything, people wouldn't speak up? I find it to be a HUGE inconvenience (to be exact - torture and suffering!)
There is lots of evidence that they negatively impact many people

Heh. I live in Arizona, and we've never had it. We don't want to save no stinkin' daylight because the daylight here is way too hot.

We're happy when it gets dark. I wouldn't mind if we went to Daylight Wasting Time, where we set the clocks in a way that made it get dark an hour earlier in June. But if we did that, the wild quail in the back yard would start hollering at 4 AM instead of 5. So maybe it's good that we don't.

It went forward last weekend for most people in the US. But not for me!

is quail bothering you that much that time matters? Does it wake you up?

Convince 48 state legislatures that it's better not to do it. Or maybe just your own state legislature. But I can tell you what it's like being the only state that doesn't use it. For most of the year we're three hours behind New York and the same time as Los Angeles. Then for about 4 months we're two hours behind New York and one hour ahead of Los Angeles. You have to stop and think about what time of year it is anytime you want to call somebody in a different area.

When the quail sound off in the yard it's a lot like listening to a rooster crow. It's a different call, but it's pretty loud. I couldn't a really good example of it online. This one lets you hear the call right at the start, but they were off at a distance using a zoom lens and didn't capture the loudness of it. It's odd seeing the bird in a tree, they're almost always on the ground around here.

you can probably collect their eggs and go sell them every weekend at the Farmers market :))) - this would not be nice though
I bet they would leave your yard if this really happens (just kidding)

I don't know if they're laying eggs in the yard every year or not, although I know that it's happened at least twice. They're very good at camouflage, and the yard has places where they could easily lay eggs and I'd never know about it. But they're definitely coming into the yard from other places to look for food, and calling to their friends and family while they do it. It's a lot of fun to watch them, especially when they have babies. But it would be nice if they didn't yell before 7 AM, and just whispered when it's earlier than that.
