I never heard of a blue-fronted macaw before so I did some googling. The blue front is apparently also known as the blue-throated macaw or caninde macaw (scientific name ara glaucogularis). They're very rare so the bird at the pet shop ought to be super-duper expensive if it really is one. Are you sure it isn't just a regular blue and gold? They look kind of similar, but the blue throated has a bigger throat spot and it's a different shade too..

Either way these are big macaws, and big macaws can be hard to handle.

I never heard of Finschs conure either - they look really cute!

OK, that makes sense. Blue-fronted Amazons are very common and they're supposed to be one of the best talkers. But Amazons are temperamental, and they're especially wicked bad when they're hormonal! I don't know how they compare price-wise, but I think a caique would be a lot sweeter and gentler.

Well there's the ever-popular COCKATIEL!! That cage size would would work with a lot of the smaller conures. There are several nice African parrots too, like Senegals and pionus. If I was going to get a species that I never had before, I think I'd go for a Sennie. I know someone with a brown-headed parrot - the bird is small and very sweet.
