The banner is finished!

I ran into problems with the chattering lory - the colors are so vivid that when I shrank it down it looked like a cartoon bird instead of a real bird. The other chattering lory pictures that I looked at seemed like they would turn out the same way. So that bird didn't make it into the banner, but the rainbow lorikeet did.

I managed to move the search box, which meant that I had more room for birds. I put Dusty up in the corner where the search box used to be. He has quite a presence up there - he looks kind of scary lol!

Tielfan, the banner is looking more and more beautiful!!! First of all, I see TWO tiels now: awesome! and Dusty... Catalinadee will be really happy, he was one of her babies. I have never seen a bird like that before.
Who is the other tiel? I am sure I have seen him before!

There are actually three cockatiels in the banner and they're all my birds. Teela is the lutino hen on the left side, Vlad is the cinnamon male on the right side, and the flying pied cockatiel is the late great Geezer. I don't mention his name in my signature, but he's there in the middle arguing with Vlad. They used to spend a lot of time doing that lol. That was back in the days when I only had two birds.

I think Dusty is a dusky lory. I don't think I've ever seen one of them in real life, but the pictures on the internet look similar.

You have no idea how many times I looked at those two bickering in your siggy and thinking how could I recreate that effect with two of my birds... They are so funny!

They say that social dominance in parrots is a myth, and when you have a lot of birds I agree that this is true. But when you only have two birds dominance can be very very real. Geezer was almost always the winner in their arguments, and a lot of times Vlad didn't even bother to fight back.

My current flock is much more equalitarian. Any bird can start a fight and any bird can win the fight. Usually the bird that starts the fight is the winner but not always.
