I love it! and the yellow birdy is back yay!
I thought you wanted the rosette in the center, but I have to say this last one looks amazing. I miss the halo though :D

I just wanted the rosette to be somewhere in the picture, and doing it this way actually lets me make it bigger. I liked the halo, but at the same time I thought it looked kind of silly and tacky (that's why I liked it actually) and I thought it might be a turnoff to some people. The current version is more professional looking IMO. I want to add at least a couple more birds to it before I'm through.

I figured out what the yellow bird was by the way. It's the opaline mutation of the red-rumped parrot. Who'da thunk it. There are 300+ parrot species and I had a suspicion that this one was a mutation so I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to figure it out. In the end it was the black beak that gave it away. The bird had the general look of an Australian parrot, so I started looking at guides to Australian parrots trying to find one with a black beak. Fortunately there aren't very many that do! I figured out a couple of others that I wasn't too sure about, and for the first time ever I know what every species in the banner is. Or at least I think I know it lol.

I am sorry I have to post one by one, the moody board doesn't make me post multiple pics at rhe moment.

Or this incredible one, he was the bird of someone who will register here as soon as she has time :D

This type is pretty too, I don't know if we have him already

Maybe this one can't be considered a small bird

Ok now I was able to post 2 photos in the same post. This is weird!

Thanks! I'm going to try to fit the chattering lory and one of the rainbow lorikeets into the picture. The other pics weren't as sharp, clear and colorful as those two. I recognize one of the other birds as a white-bellied caique (we have a black-headed caique at the right end of the banner). I don't know what the remaining bird is but it looks gorgeous.

And you don't have to use the pics i posted, I just wanted to show some of the types we maybe don't have yet. I am sure there are much better photos of them around!

I like using members' birds actually, it personalizes the banner in a way that stock photos can't, no matter how gorgeous. See the blue budgie in the middle of the current version of the banner?

That's Blinkie, probably the most iconic bird this forum has ever seen. He belongs to Bea, who later went on to become one of the founders of TC. During her time here (mostly on previous incarnations of the board which are lost forever now) she posted a ton of pictures and stories about Blinkie. There are still some pictures of him in the photo contest section of the main website, and I couldn't NOT put him in the banner. He's part of the history of this board and he totally belongs there.
