was wondering how users would feel about thous word activation things? i was thinking of useing em to keep the spammers at bay. you know where you type in a word to beable to do some things?

Those things are obnoxious but it's a lot better than having spam all the time. Another alternative that might be doable is to put all new members on moderation at first. If their first post is acceptable we unmoderate them and if it's not acceptable we delete them. But I don't know if this board can actually work that way, and it would also delay nice people from making their first post. I think your word activation idea is better.

While you're at it, you might want to delete all the members with zero posts. Several of them posted spam that was deleted, and others look like spammers who never bothered to post anything. The problem has tapered off lately, so apparently they're not getting enough return on their efforts to make it worth the trouble.
