Just giving Mel some credit for past services, and setting a new icon for admins (me) while I was at it. The admin rank has been kind of a pain. It doesn't change automatically like everybody else's so I had to keep an eye on my post count and change the icon when I hit the right level. So I decided it was easier to just have a special icon for it. Everything else is still the same.

So Mel isn't an admin anymore?

No, the situation has changed a lot from the time several years ago when she was more active. It was appropriate to do some status-updating.

She inherited the site from Mel. To become staff on any forum, it helps to be very, very knowledgeable on the subject, and Carolyn definitely knows her stuff.

We all start out the same way, knowing nothing. The internet provides lots of opportunities to learn, so anybody can become an expert if they want to! It does take time though. What worked for me was spending several years looking up the answers to questions that other people asked.
