This is Pat, a pineapple green cheek conure of unknown gender that I'm currently babysitting.


Dweezil gets more or less upside down to eat from this food dish. When he puts his head down in the bowl he's all the way upside down, but I didn't get a good shot of that. He molted one of those long tailfeathers and it's 10 1/2 inches long (26 cm).

If anybody else wants to enter better get your entry in quick. We're already running late.

The conure is so cute! Are you birdsitting him for a friend?

He (or she) is actually intended for the bird club Christmas raffle. We usually don't get raffle birds until October but I think somebody gave him to us for free. The person who was babysitting him left town on vacation so I took over. Somebody else will get him after me. He's adorable but he's also a pain in the butt lol. When he squawks the cockatiels freak out, and he squawks frequently. They're starting to get used to it but they still panic sometimes. He's nippy so I can't let him play with the tiels. He's the smallest bird in the house (not counting the 12 baby cockatiels that I have in nestboxes) but he has the biggest beak. But he's cuddly and likes to sit on my chest getting head scritches, up until the moment when he decides he wants to play Dracula and latches onto my neck with his beak.

Try doing that with a GW macaw.

You gotta be careful with the big boys lol. The little tiny birds, not so much.

I sincerely wished they mentioned she hates females before I picked her up.
