I just realized that I actually do have more pictures of my birds playing. Two that actually involve the playstand.

And then one of Alex's favorite toys is my camera's wrist strap. :P

It's funny that they find more entertainment with things that aren't actually toys.

But with their logic: EVERYTHING's a toy

When I saw the first picture, at first I thought that Lucy was flying through the air with a large toy gripped in her claws! My guys frequently fly across the room carrying little things, so that I end up saying "How did that get over here?".

Or a lens cap!

Bottom's Up foragers go down a hit, especially when you fill them with nutriberries

Hope those will do. Had to drag them up from somewhere

What kind of bird is this? I can't match it up with any of the species you mentioned in your intro. My best guess is yellow-streaked lory. Whatever it is, it's gorgeous!

 She's yet to carry things in her feet while flying, but she'll run off with things in her mouth. Specifically things she knows she's not supposed to have.

Once I was trying to draw... Looked away for a second and wasn't really paying attention. Next thing I know she just takes the pencil out of my hand and walks away.

What exactly did she want with the pencil I'm not sure, because she just set it down on the table a couple feet away from me.

A yellow streaked lory, yes :)

I didn't wish to say in my intro as it is a bit of a bummer, but I used to have a few companion parrots and I was also a foster home. In 2013 we had a gas leak. Our boiler was leaking between the two bird rooms and they birds all hit the deck within minutes of one another. I broke my heart and panicked and I still cannot get over it, nor do I think I ever will. At the time I had two sibling green cheek conures, a lesser sulphur crested cockatoo (who was downstairs and I gave back to the rescue I adopted him from as I was terrified for him), two Alexandrine parakeets, an orange winged Amazon, the love of my life Darwin a black capped lory, a cockatiel I bred and handraised myself and my foster birds (the yellow streaked being one of them). Necropsy results showed next to nothing because of it and it was all so sudden. If it wasn't for them though, goodness knows what would have happened to me and my partner. I have since built outdoor bird rooms for any 'indoors' sort of birds so they can have separate air space away from the house. It's something that really concerns me now and it can happen to anybody at any time. Needless to say we've moved house since! I sorted it out with the landlords and moved into a friends home. Saved for a mortgage and now we've got a much nicer place that's a lot safer and well looked after

What a terrible, sad thing to happen! I'm glad that you and your current birds are in a safer place now.
