I have an opposite question - how well can cockatiels hear? Any info on their hearing? I mean, when they sleep in the living room and I am washing dishes in the kitchen with no door between us, is it for them like Niagara Falls?

Sometimes he'll hear me before I even put the key in the door, like maybe my footsteps outside? So if yours are like mine, then they can hear pretty well. Better than we can. My Peach hears my husband's truck come in the driveway and starts whistling for him. He's her true love!

I can ever imagine clipping a macaw. I would have to hold him with 3 thick towels with extra help from 4 more people.
