I guess they couldn't do much to a tiel, since they're so small, but I guess it's what we've always been told: their personalities may vary. If the parrotlet is very calm, and the cockatiel too, I guess there wouldn't be too much of a big deal. But if they are fighty, then I think they could do some damage to each other, like picking on feet and eyes and stuff. Also, I've been told that how you introduce them is key. And if your flock doesn't accept them, than that could be frustrating.
Conclusions: Get one if you want to, but always have a spare cage just in case they don't get along, and introduce them well.

They would probably be alright with each other during out-of-cage time. I read somewhere that parrotlets somewhat have the behavior of an amazon parrot (a moderately large species), which probably explains why they're not afraid of a bird bigger than them. They practically have "little bird syndrome" (as opposed to "short-man's syndrome"). Erik, you're not completely wrong. The personalities will vary. Some may be more aggressive than others. Regardless, it's best to get them their own cage.

That's awesome! I'm sure in some cases, a parrotlet may get along with cockatiels, though if you were to buy one of the babies from the breeder, I doubt they would have the same personality as Chewie. Even hand reared babies can be aggressive. So it would still be best to get a separate cage.
