My two cockatiels are mostly out of their cages. My two budgies are pretty much in their cage (it's a nice size one, though, a two-story Vision cage).
In the early evening the tiels like to go over to the budgie cage, perch on top of it, and climb around the outside of it.
Tonight I was watching the four of them and decided it might be interesting to open the door of the budgie cage.
The last couple of times I had the budgies out I had a lot of trouble getting them back, especially Winter (the white female). That's one of the reasons I don't let them out.
A while after I opened the doors, Winter find her way over and perched in the doorway. After a bit, she started climbing on the outside of the cage. Silver (the male tiel) was interested in her. So I watched the two of them, over several minutes, gradually work their way closer to each other, then a bit of open beak thrusting from Silver, and then they each went their own way.
A little bit later, Winter found her way back to the door and into the cage! Piper (the male budgie) came over to her and she's been telling him all about her adventure.
