A lot of people have empathy and compassion for animals even if they are just "wild dirty mice". I have a humane live trap that I use to catch pocket mice in the back yard (I don't like the way they dig it up). When I catch one I drive it a few blocks away and release it in a natural area, where it can live a normal life that doesn't involve my yard.

Honestly Brandon your comments frequently sound scornful and disrespectful. If you're doing it on purpose, you'd be doing yourself a favor if you eased up on the snark. If you're not doing it on purpose, you need to work on becoming more aware of how you sound to other people. There's really only one rule in this group and it's "be nice".

Being antagonistic to other people is what got you kicked off of TC, and it doesn't matter who started it because the real problem is who's keeping it going. Ongoing nastiness creates an unpleasant atmosphere for everyone in a group, not just the people who are directly involved in the conversation. The problem hasn't reached the level here that it did on TC, mainly because the people here don't like to engage in petty bickering and some people over there obviously do. But people have previously made comments about your attitude in this group too, so the problem does exist. It's not OK to treat people contemptuously in this group .

Carolyn I have never said anything rude or disrespectful on this group I love animals its not my house not my decision to say whether the mice die or not.My mam just wants them gone she was talking about waiting till they get bigger so the traps will catch them and I told her they would just breed then that maybe try a humane trap because it will catch the babies and then they can be released. Its always silly things that make people turn on me all I do on this forum is be nice and I don't spend much time on the forum because I have birds to work with and take care of.And I was gonna make a thread about Loki as im afraid im gonna lose her but since I might sound disrespectful I think ill leave it at that.

What's wrong with Loki? We do want to help with bird issues, preferably in a pleasant atmosphere.

Maybe you just don't realize that a lot of times your response makes it sound like you think the other person is an idiot because of whatever that they said. "Why would I want to do something like that?" indicates that you think their suggestion is ridiculous. "Of course it's cold here, it's winter" says that they're stupid for not knowing what the weather is like where you are, no matter how far it is from where they are. But winter weather isn't the same everywhere, and right now it's summer on half the planet. It's winter where I am, but the winter weather here is probably more pleasant than your summer weather. The high temperature today was about 75F (24C).

Or the tone of your comments suggests that they're dumb for some other reason, like not knowing exactly what color a plumhead is, or for not noticing that the bird had a flight suit on, or for missing or not remembering some detail that was mentioned in a previous post. Different wording would make it sound nicer. Or that they're bad bird owners because they made a different decision than you did, for example clipping a bird to make it more manageable. You thought about doing it but decided against it because your bird was manageable enough without it. Other people are dealing with a different bird and might not come up with the same answer. All these mini-controversies have come up within the last few days, so you can probably see why it looks like an ongoing problem.

Nobody here is perfect. We don't all think the same way and we live under different circumstances, so there isn't a "one size fits all" answer to most problems. Sometimes we miss things or make mistakes, and yes, we do make dumb comments sometimes. It's part of being human and everybody does it. It's best to be nice about it when it happens to someone else, because sooner or later you'll be the one making the dumb comment and it's not fun being ridiculed for it.

I think chipper means to find a place to release them in the wild. Preferrably a place where they can't get into houses.

Because mice do find homes in the wild, other than in human homes.
yes this is what I was talking about of course! Rehome means take them elsewhere (I drive them to a wildlife park nearby)
also...I don't mind them even living in my garage, but I house rabbits in there when it's too cold (we don't park cars there). If nobody lived in garage, mice wouldn't be a problem (probably), unless they penetrate into the house (which is quite possible if they are in garage)
I find mouse poop on my front porch... it doesn't even come to my mind to mess with that mouse (I saw it a couple of times running thru the front yard when I arrived too suddenly LOL) They also play their role in our eco system, believe it or not. By the way, I still struggle to accept the concept of humans being the Kings of the world... I see a lot of harm from that concept.
Carolyn (or anybody else), do you know what movie Michael Jackson's song "Ben" is from? I want to watch it (sounds like it's about a mouse)

according to the forecast I am looking at (intellicast.com), it's not nearly as cold as I would expect in Dublin at this time. Maybe it feels much worse than the digits, who knows... that's why I asked :)

54 degrees fahrenheit, is pretty cold in dryer climates, and if you're born in a place with those kinds of winters (or just been living there for a long time) it tends to feel cold. It's funny, because here in AZ, you can pick out those who live here vs those who are visiting, by what they're wearing in like, 40 degree weather. We're all bundled up while the visitors are wearing T-shirts and shorts.

that may be true about people, I wonder what it feels like to mice :)
I'd say that 54F can be pretty warm with a lot of sun and not much wind. But humidity also plays a big role I think

Anybody can clip their birds wings its their decision and im not against that I didn't want to mention but I clipped Mango's wings and left him for a week to see how he get on he could still fly high because I just cut a few but yesterday I cut more so he can just fly horizontally now and he's doing well steps on my arm all the time and stays still more so maybe he will be still enough to start trusting me and take food from me.I will talk about Loki in another thread.I dont mean to make people feel stupid or anything and I did say most of those comments last night and I dont really know what to say when im tired.

"Ben" is from the movie Willard. It's not a cute-animal story, it's a horror movie about a guy whose pet rats turn dangerous. So you might not like it too much unless you're into that sort of movie lol. Ben is one of the rats, and the song is basically a love song about a killer rat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willard_%281971_film%29
