So a few days ago I got a nice bag of dried fruit. It has pineapple, coconut, papaya, raisins and banana chips. Does that sound like it would appeal to the birds? They're pretty big chunks of fruit, but I'm sure someone will like them.

Most cockatiels don't like fruit and I've heard the same about budgies. But you can certainly enjoy it yourself!

You know, no one in my family, including me, really cares for dried fruit. Yet, at least. I don't know, maybe someone will down the line.

I bought that for the birds to eat. I'm sure I'll find at least one bird that will eat it. I don't know why. For some reason, I have a feeling at least one won't mind it too much. Is it bigger birds that tend to like it more?

In the case of cockatiels, I know that it's because fruit isn't part of their wild diet, plus they don't have the ability to taste sweetness so the taste isn't a draw. Budgies come from the same habitat so the same thing maybe true of them. A lot of the bigger parrots (Amazons, macaws, etc) come from the rain forest and they do eat fruit there, so they like it.

There are exceptions to every rule though, and fruit-loving budgies and cockatiels do exist. Maybe your guys will belong to that club!

What is in ingredients? Just dried fruit and that's it? I found extremely difficult to find that stuff without potassium sorbate or sulfur dioxide.
I recently got a few bags of organic Turkish dried apricots at Big Lots (only apricots listed) and was thinking if I should cut it and offer to my rabbits. I decided not to as it's very sugary :)

Crazy idea.

Now that you have a blue crown conure, can you feed him the dried fruit?

Well, you have a conure. I'm assuming you've done it before. How is that a crazy idea?
