Not really sure whether this is real or photoshopped. The bird looks a lot smaller in the shadow so this particular bird may have been inserted into the photo, but it's just about life size for some species. I'm not sure exactly what species it is because I haven't found pictures that match it precisely, but I'm inclined to think Andean condor or California condor. I can't rule out black vulture either. There's a bigger image at http://bandidosyanquis.tumblr.com/post/6502330518 but that one won't display in the post like the one below.

This looks like the same species but they didn't identify the bird either.

This looks like a different species, or maybe just a more mature bird with full adult plumage. But it shows that gigantic birds are real!

It's a juvenile Andean condor and I imagine weighs an absolute ton! I've handled large eagles that I wouldn't consider heavy compared to a condor and I can tell you it's a struggle haha

The internet says that Andean condors can weigh up to 33 pounds (15 kg), and I can't imagine trying to hold one up on my outstretched arm. I'm used to cockatiels so macaws feel really heavy to me, and they only weigh about 3 pounds. The skinny guy in the first picture is obviously having to work at it, but I'm impressed that he can do it at all!
