I must check what's in the seeds I give him (and that he now likes more than millet or treats). There are many ingredients, not just seeds. I will see if they contain hemp too or if I can find something with hemp.

i think you can buy hemp seed from places sell bird seed.

You can order hemp seed online from places like Amazon too, but you have to be careful. Most of the hemp seed that's being sold is for humans and has the shells removed. It's harder to find hemp seed that's still in the shell, and a lot of times they don't really tell you which one it is. So you have to make sure that they actually say it's still in the shell.

There's nothing wrong with no shell actually, but birds usually like to crack the shells off themselves. It's fine to feed it with the shell off too, but it's easier for the bird to eat a lot of it that way. Hemp is nutritious but it's also high in fat, so we don't want them to eat too much of it.

yeah i decided to mix in the hemp with his seed mix. so that he gets bit of every thing when whe does get seed. which is like 2 or 3 times wk for dinner.
