For this month's theme it was a tough decision between best head feathers, angry birds, and birds of play. But I decided to go with Birds of Play. Contest entries should show birds who are playing in some way, with toys or with you or with each other or anything else they like to play with.

Each person can enter up to five photos. They should be your own pictures not something you found on the internet or elsewhere. Ordinary photo-processing editing is OK but don't add extra elements that weren't in the original photo - that sort of thing belongs in the art contest. Contest runs through January 25 and then we'll have a vote.

Percy (or Bertie, they are identical) decided that no proper toy was as much fun as my "chandelier"... how do you call those lamps?
Needless to say, no chandeliers were ever up again until these two guys moved to their new home.

I was going through my entire photo folder in search of a playing bird, and I can't find any!
I have videos of various playing birdies, but I am too much of a slow clicker to get them at the right moment in a picture. So I will extract some frames from the videos.
