I was laying on my bed, just eating some barbacue chips, then all of a sudden gracie, (my cockatiel) flies to my shoulder. I didn't know what she wanted, but then I relised she wanted some of what I was eating......barbacue chips! I let her have a tiny bit.....couldn't resist......... was that wrong? Should I not have done that? :feedback:

No. Everyone slips their birds a not so good treat every now and then. Including me. Sometimes the boys will get a bite of graham cracker or some Goldfish sometimes for a treat. A bite won't hurt her at all.

That's good to hear! What are some other snack foods that I can eat in front of her and not feel ashamed? I eat in my room a lot and it just kills me to have to eat in front of her, thinking I'm doing what's best for her. Whenever she looks at me with those eyes, it is very hard to say no! :nono: if I don't give her what she wants, she screams like crazy! Its hard to ignore! :nolisten:

You can eat whatever you want, just trick her and give her millet instead, it works every time LOL

I doubt she'd give you that look again.

It kinda seems weird to me that a cockatiel would like ice cream.....after all, it is sooooo COLD!

When Beaker was a single bird, he would sip out of my Naked. And I had a lovie who licked some ice cream. He hated it and flew away screaming at it for being cold. He was a character.

You could always eat something healthy, like a rice cake. But where's the fun in that?
