I wanted to give away all my birds yesterday because I couldn't handle them anymore! It's too much work. The babies don't eat well and they get hungry SOO fast.
I might give the babies to the flea market because they hand feed cockatiels there. I'll get them back when I feel ready.
I might even give away a few of my current birds.
I am never breeding again! I just really wanted a sweet, tame, whiteface and pied but instead I got a mother that plucks and the father that flew away.
It's 1:51 am right now! I can't sleep because I keep thinking of my babies.
My sister said that they were about to die today out of hunger.
I will make sure the lady won't sell or clip my babies. I'll pay her to raise them.
I need some time out but I can't because they keep demanding food.
I never had a clutch like this! 3 babies were already something different. On one side, I am grateful that baby#4 isn't with us . I would of collapsed a long time ago! Take a deep breathe and count to 50.... I'm sure after that you'll see things in a very different light... We all feel awful, and useless if things happen to our animals, its all part of life... and we have to adjust to it, I'm sure you will not give your babies to anyone, you'll not know what would happen to them.. just keep on doing what you've been doing and go out side and kick the fence or a ball... things will get better.. Good luck...

The chicks are great! I have to show you a video on how my mornings are! They try to fly to me... I can't get in the aviary for at least 20 seconds because they try to come to me for food and if I open the door, they will fly away.
They attack me for food (not literally)
Marshmallow has been...Um...very friendly to her father! I caught them mating 3 times but they were only successful once. I seperated her in a smaller cage inside the aviary, but I give her free time while I make food for the chicks, so while I made it, I came back and found them mating. I did stop them and got a present from Georgie...it hurt
I'm thinking of a way to give the whole aviary long nights. They live outside in an aviary.
How long do I need to give them long nights for? Will they return hormonal if I stop doing it?

Update: she laid an egg in the smaller cage!
What should I do? Leave her in the aviary? Bring her home? I want her to live in the aviary, my parents aren't going to say yes always.

Should I put a nest box in the aviary and replace her real eggs with dummy's and let her sit on it until she looses interest? She obviously is still trying to make a double clutch but hasn't successed, actually, with the number of eggs she already laid, she is up to her 3rd clutch.

I cracked open the real egg and threw it out and I put a real egg in the nest and gave it to them. This is how they thanked me... The reason I cracked open the egg before throwing it out is because I read somewhere that if the place the egg is in is hot enough, it can hatch, I know the chances of that is rare but I would do anything so that egg won't hatch. They were in the nest almost the whole day so far, they came out for breaks but they are spending much more time than they were inside the storage room. I am letting them mate as much as they want. It's impossible to stop them, they are birds, and birds like fun and they are ready going to get their eggs thrown out...so why can't they have some fun while they have a nest. Even if I tried to stop them, they will try even harder to mate and I can't stand outside the whole day. The 3 babies are in my room!! They got cuts on their beak because of the aviary, and the storage room is hot as heck, and their are raccoons outside the aviary, so they are home with me inside the new cage!
