Start with something that they love in your hand, whether that's millet spray, a mirror, or a star toy. Don't put a lot of stress on them when they're sick, but their lack of energy could actually be helpful since they'll be more inclined to just sit on your hand with whatever you're using to interest them.

All those would very well actually. Very good suggestions. And yes, that was the plan. I don't plan to be too productive with them or make any great strides, but since they are bored, I figure maybe I should take advantage of this situation.

Wow, that was fast. I have had their cage door open at all times and walk in and check on them about every 2 hours. When I do, I'll sit and talk to them for a couple minutes. Well, good old Poppy waddled up to the front and sat at the base of the door to chatter at me. Specky stayed by his star toy. I still did not take it out yet. I guess Poppy really is bored out of his mind to have him come chat with me.

As of yesterday they were doing well enough that she was planning to take them out of the cage for some handling, and today she's making casual posts about other subjects not a screaming budgie emergency. So I'm assuming that they're still reasonably OK.

Yes, they seem to be doing fine. I think the timing was everything. I was careless and didn't detect anything that was off with the tiels, until they were on the ground fluffed up. I saw something wrong immediately with the budgies and caught it quickly.

The only issue I'm having with them is Beck is getting territorial and protective over his star toy, however, it's his source of comfort. But Beck is one of those birds who gets addicted to things very fast. That's why he can't have mirrors. Poppy doesn't seem to have that problem, although he hasn't hit puberty yet either.
