You probably remember my problems with Emma being very hand shy and not stepping up.
Well, this morning she ended up on the floor and was calling for me. Despite the face that she doesn't like being on the floor (and I don't really allow the birds down there), she would never step up onto my hand. The only way I could get her up was to offer her a wicker basket to perch on.
This morning I tried again offering my hand, palm down and flat on the floor. To my astonishment, she stepped up! Yay, Emma. Once we got to a reasonable height, she jumped over to the cage.

Wow! Good work. I had a stick trained lovebird, my buddy Teak, and he would also step up on a hand if I picked him up off the floor.

All my birds will step up onto my hand when they are on the floor.. except my Budgie... he runs like a grey-hound away from me.. hates hands and fingers....

So, ten days have gone by since I first got Emma off the floor with my hand, instead of the wicker basket. I now find that Emma will step onto the back of my hand most of the time when she is on the floor!
Emma has been with me eight months now. It's really amazing to see these little bits of progress.
She is readily coming to my arm for sunflower seeds, as long as the other birds are not there competing with her. She is a shy, unassertive little girl.
I am almost starting to think that she likes me a little bit.

It's amazing to see the progress when we don't expect it. I was dumbfounded when Poppy ate millet from my hand.
