Oh no, I feel for both of you. It must be so hard. Cockatiels are very forgiving. I was trying to get Marshmallow to wear the harness and she absolutely hated me. I stopped training her and she became her sweet self again. Just offer millet and lots of cuddles and once she fully heals, you will have your Peach back. You mentioned that she likes head scratches. Maybe while she is on your hubby, you can slowly approach your finger to give a little rub, maybe even a tasty bite of millet. I have heard of many stories where people had to give their birds medication and their birds hated the owners but once the bird healed, they were friendly again. You and Peach are both in my thoughts. (I love the name Peach)

Thanks Baruch!

Monday, Peach got her splint off. She was doing very well until last night just as I was going to bed around 10pm, I heard her having a night fright. I gave her an extra dose of her anti-inflammatory and sat with her for about an hour.
This morning her wing is out of line again. Not as much before, but out.
I don't know what to do. I actually used 1/2 of our mortgage $ for the
vet so far. I'm watching her. She acts ok.

If you can't afford to go to the vet again, you could call them and ask if there's anything you can do for her at home.

Your probably going through some stress. I am so sorry. I hope Peach has a fast, and swift recovery.

Thanks for all of the support. The thing is Peach is not acting off at all. She is playing w/her toys, eating like her usual piggy self and whistling.
Also, she still likes to pretend her toys are her boyfriend...if you know what I mean. :)
But the darn left wing is not quite right.

Is she flapping or stretching her wing at all?

Yes, Carolyn, she is flapping and stretching her wing. She also climbs all around her cage as usual. I got the call from her vet last night. She said she was never certain the tissue would heal. As long as she seems happy and comfortable she suggested that we leave her be. Peach does seem to be ok. I will continue the anti-inflammatory for another month and then 1/2 dose for a second month. She is still playing with her toys and eating piggishly. :)

If she'll let you touch her wing, you could gently tuck it into the right position every now and then. That's basically what cured Snowy of angel wing. It's a totally different situation - adult versus baby, injury versus developmental issue - but who knows, it might help.
