Be sure to keep him separate from your other birds at first. Quarantine is ALWAYS a good idea. Even if a bird looks perfectly healthy, the stress of a new home can bring out hidden problems sometimes. It also gives the new bird a chance to get acquainted with you before he gets distracted by all the other birds in the house. Yeah thats why hes going in a cage first and to get used to his surroundings

Another possibility on the toe problem is that his parents bit the end of his toes off. Unfortunately parent birds do attack their own chicks sometimes, and biting off the toes is a fairly common way for them to do it. In any case, if he's missing all his front toenails it will make it more difficult for him to perch, climb and grasp things, so you might have to make some special accommodations to help him out.
I know it's too soon to tell much, but does he seem to be very social with humans? I wouldn't say he's wild like acts like birds from a pet store I think he's just a little scared of hands and being in a new home but he sits close to the front of the cage with a happy face.Baby plum heads are fully green when babies so he has his adult colouring and he was housed with the cockatiels last time I saw him today he was in a large cage alone guessing he was moved there so when I came to get him they wouldn't have to try catch him in a big aviary with cockatiels flying around too.It would be great if there were other members with plum heads because there isn't much information about them. Also is there such thing as seed for large parakeets I gave him a mix of Tiko's seed and budgie seed.
