I have a cousion (not the ones that I usually talk about). She is 11 years old. Well she found a pigeon that couldn't fly 3 days ago and kept him in her house. We were both somewhere else when I told her I had to go home to feed my birds. She was like "really? Im coming!" She likes the birds.

So after I'm done changing the bird food she told me she found an injured pigeon and she named it Poopoo because it poops a lot. She asked if we want to see it and I said sure. So on the way to her house she started laughing and telling me she was joking so I was like going back and fourth whether to go there or not. At the end I went. I told her I know your joking but let's go.

When we got there she was like "Poopoo? Where are you?" And guess what. There was really a pigeon.

The bird was on a table with his whole underside wet. His poop was horrible and I noticed that the only food there is corn pellets. I told her this bird is very sick and about to starve to death. I said you need to give him to me so I can try to heal it. I told her I'll give him back to you. After 5 minutes she finally said yes.

On the way back home I noticed the bird was not doing well. He started to close its eyes and was very weak. My cousin was so scared she was like "what's happening?!?" She started to shake him to wake him up. She gave him to me and I put him on the ground because I already knew what was going to happen next. The pigeon started the shake his head rapidly and that was it. He froze. My cousin had tears. I felt so bad for her. She tried to help him. We buried him after. It made her feel better.

It's sad that the pigeon didn't make it, but nice to know that there's another bird lover in the family that you can talk to.

Holy cow, peacocks?!? It's impressive that she's willing to take those on. I don't know whether it's actually difficult to take care of them, but their large size and extremely loud shriek would automatically make them a challenge for me.

They don't cage them. The father and mother hates bird cages, they feel like it's jail. I don't think its hard to care for them. They just give food and water and the Peacocks go run their lives. They leave the home area but know the way back home.

Yes, your right about the extreamly loud shriek. The neighbors hate them. The Peacock always mgi on their neighbors roof and scream. They actually caught the neighbor trying to hurt them on camera several times. I remember she put them all in a trash can and was about to take them away until she was caught.

Peacocks are typically allowed to run free like chickens. One of the bird banding sites that I volunteer at has a neighbor with a couple of peacocks, and I have a picture of a peacock hanging out with the wild turkeys in the area. They say the turkeys don't usually tolerate the peacocks, but they did it this day for some reason.

It's not actually funny that the neighbor wants to harm the peacocks, but at the same time the idea of the neighbor hauling them out to the curb in a trash can is kinda hilarious.
